Foreigner Fined For Not Wearing Face Mask & Spewing Harsh Words Towards A Security Guard

A foreigner was fined RM800 for not wearing a face mask to a supermarket and spewing abusive words towards a security guard. 

The fine was imposed by Magistrate S. Mageswary against Theberge Travis Lee after the accused pleaded guilty to the charges against him.

Theberge could be jailed for 15 days if he fails to pay the fine. 

The case was handled in accordance with the law, which stipulated a maximum fine of RM100 under Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1955.

According to Kosmo, the court imposed a fine of RM100 for the first charge, and for the second offense, the court fined RM700.
