A man passed away in the driver’s seat of his car due to a heart attack on Friday (18 December), while waiting for his wife outside a private hospital in Bangsar.

According to Astro Awani, the victim, Mohd Ashraf Rosli suddenly lost consciousness while he was waiting for his wife, who was attending a job interview at the hospital, with their three children aged 6 years old, 3 years old, and one-month-old.

The incident went viral on social media shortly after, with photos of the children standing outside the car circulating the internet. In the photos, two of the children were standing beside the victim’s car with a Japanese woman, who was trying to help them, despite the language barrier.

Brickfields district police chief ACP Annuar Omar confirmed the incident, saying that the victim was sent to the University of Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC), where he was pronounced dead.

The victim’s mother, Mafahirah Shamsuri, thanked the Japanese woman who had saved her three grandchildren, “I still want to find the lady and I want to thank her. Though my son couldn’t be saved, maybe God loves him more.”

“He was a good son. He never complained whenever he’s unwell or tired, and he never showed any signs that he was going to leave us this soon,” she told BERNAMA.

Meanwhile, his wife said that it wasn’t the first time that he had complained about having chest pains. He had the same pain two weeks earlier but it decreased after taking painkillers.

The autopsy result from the UMMC Forensics Medicine Department confirmed that the victim died of a heart attack and that the case has been classified as sudden death.

The late Mohd Ashraf had a deep interest in the field of motoring and often shares his activity through his YouTube channel, Cakcibor, which has over 27,000 subscribers.

Our deepest sympathy and prayers to Ashraf’s family.
