Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) wants the public to be reminded that its myBNM app is no longer in service.

This, following several reports of fake text messages and calls informing users that their accounts have been compromised, and that they need to provide their banking details to verify certain “transactions”.

The central bank took to Twitter to share the notice:

These fake text messages and calls are nothing new, though… 

Back in May, a businessman had lodged a police report claiming to have lost RM33,000 in savings after providing his banking information through the purported app.

BNM has advised that if you have any enquiries, please contact BNMTELELINK at 1-300-88-5465 or visit https://telelink.bnm.gov.my.

You can also contact the Credit Counselling and Debt Management Agency (AKPK) at +603-2616-7766 for further financial advice.
