In conjunction with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Design For Change Malaysia has once again launched its I CAN Challenge for the year 2020.

Students will be able to share their ideas for SDG impact projects on a global scale, using the simplified design thinking model of Feel-Imagine-Do-Share (FIDS), that was introduced by Design for Change (DFC).

At last year’s I CAN Challenge, a total of 96 student-led SDG-aligned impact projects had an outreach to touch over 500,000 lives and DFC hopes to do the same for this year.

The big announcement is here! I CAN CHALLENGE 2020 is back! Are you going to be our next superheroes? Especially now,...

With the coronavirus pandemic still ongoing, this year’s challenge will be vital to motivate and inspire students and educators to be a part of the solution to the problem, while making them believe that there is an opportunity to make a positive difference in the current situation.

Arabelle Yong, who manages DFC Malaysia said, “The framework known as FIDS focuses on transforming the children’s mindsets from one of ‘Can I?’ to ‘I Can!’ and that the FIDS framework has also been proven to develop 21st century skills in children, build their social and emotional competencies and promote employability skills.”

To help Malaysian teams prepare for the I CAN Challenge 2020, DFC Malaysia is organising FIDS workshops nationwide for educators and students on the 14th, 15th and 16th August 2020 respectively.
