Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister Datuk Alexandra Nanta Linggi has announced that the ceiling price of 3 ply face masks will be further reduced from RM1 to 70 sen per unit.
The new ceiling price will come into effect from this Sunday, 1st November 2020.

Nanta explained that the lowered ceiling price takes into account the needs of the people as new norms require everyone to wear face masks in public.
Meanwhile, the ceiling price for 1 ply face masks will remain at 7 sen per unit, for 2 ply face masks it’s at 20 sen per unit and N95 masks at RM6 per unit.

Ceiling prices for face masks are enforced under the Price Control and Anti-Profiteering Act 2011. Businesses and individuals which fail to accord the Act may face penalties, fines and even jail time.
