Following the Movement Control Order imposed recently by the Malaysian government in response to the COVID-19 pandemic that has gripped the nation, Perodua will suspend all its operations nationwide during this period.
This includes all operations at their head office, manufacturing facilities, sales and service centres as well as Body & Paint outlets nationwide.
New vehicle deliveries, servicing and Body & Paint services are expected to resume only after the Movement Control Order.
This comes as PROTON also announced that they will be complying with the government’s directive. The company’s business activities will be guided by the guidelines as laid out Tuesday (17 March).
Therefore, as of yesterday (18 March), all customers facing activities such as sales and after sales will cease as all PROTON outlets will be temporarily shut.
Concurrent production activities at PROTON’s Tanjung Malim and Shah Alam plants will cease in unison as they systematically shut down all their operations in an effort to help with the control of the spread of the coronavirus.
All operations at PROTON will resume as soon as clearance is given by the government of Malaysia.
Meanwhile, Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) will temporarily close all Volkswagen dealerships and service centres from the 18th to 31st of March.
Volkswagen Roadside Assistance service will remain operational for owners, and owners can reach them at 1-800-88-2389 in the event of an emergency. Volkswagen also advised that if your service appointment happens to fall within the Movement Control Order period, Volkswagen will honour the warranty.
