Six new COVID-19 clusters were detected in Malaysia yesterday (November 9th), bringing our total number of active clusters to 156.

Here are the details of these new clusters:

  1. Nahaba cluster (Kota Belud, Sabah)
  • 25 cases.
  • Index case was found positive for COVID-19 on November 4th.
  • A screening of close contacts found 24 others who also tested positive.

 

  1. Numbak cluster (Kota Kinabalu, Sabah)
  • Eight cases.
  • Index case was found from a screening conducted on individuals warded at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, before seven other close contacts tested positive.

 

  1. Perigi cluster (Klang, Selangor)
  • 39 cases.
  • Detected from a screening conducted at a workplace, and all patients have been admitted to the Sungai Buloh Hospital.

 

  1. Seri Terapi cluster (involves patients in Kepong, Kuala Lumpur and Alor Gajah, Melaka)
  • 12 cases.
  • Another 106 individuals related to the cluster are awaiting test results.

 

  1. Padang cluster (Kota Tinggi, Johor)
  • Five cases.
  • Index case was found positive for COVID-19 on November 5th, before four other close contacts tested positive.
  • Another 160 individuals related to the cluster are awaiting test results.

 

  1. Harmoni cluster (Putrajaya)
  • Five cases.
  • Index case found from a screening conducted at a workplace on November 7th.

 

Meanwhile, the Health Ministry (MOH) pointed out that out of all existing active clusters, the Cergas cluster in Negeri Sembilan has the most new cases with 130 infections.

The cluster has a total of 250 cases thus far, and 1,048 individuals linked to it have been screened.
