Nine of the 11 new COVID-19 clusters detected by the Health Ministry (MOH) as of yesterday (February 15th) are related to workplace infections.
During his daily press briefing, Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah revealed the 11 clusters were reported in Johor (five new clusters), Selangor (three), Kedah (one), Sabah (one) and Perak (one).
“The workplace-related clusters were found in Johor, Selangor and Kedah. While a community cluster (known as Patikang Ulu cluster) was detected in Keningau, Sabah and a religious cluster (Jalan Badak cluster) identified in Kinta and Kuala Kangsar, Perak,” he said.
In Johor, the clusters were identified as the Jalan Istimewa Cemerlang cluster (detected in Johor Bharu), Batu 57 cluster (Batu Pahat), Jalan Usaha Satu cluster (Johor Bharu and Pontian), Jalan Tebrau Khas cluster (Johor Bharu and Kulai) and Jalan Persiaran Teknologi Kulai cluster (Johor Bharu and Kulai).
In Selangor, the clusters were named Jalan Setia construction site cluster (Petaling), Jalan Jelatek cluster (Gombak) and Jalan Sepuluh (Petaling), while the workplace cluster in Kedah has been named the Ria Jaya cluster (Kuala Muda).
This brings our total number of clusters in the country to 983, with 484 active clusters, including the 11 new clusters.
