The government has decided to implement the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) in Klang, Selangor, as well as three districts in Sabah - Sandakan, Papar and Tuaran - from Friday (October 9th).
During his daily press briefing today (October 7th), Senior Minister (Security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said this was decided following the spike in COVID-19 cases in these areas as of late.
“Looking at the increase in cases in those areas, the National Security Council in a special meeting today agreed to implement CMCO in these four areas from October 9th, 2020,” he said.
Movement in and out of the areas under CMCO is strictly prohibited, and only essential services, including factories and chains related to necessary services are allowed.
Klang and Sandakan are red zones, with 77 and four active cases respectively.
