CITF Assures The Public Not To Worry As Seven PPV Staff At SCCC Test Positive For COVID-19

Seven staff members at the vaccination centre (PPV) at Setia City Convention Centre (SCCC) in Shah Alam tested positive for COVID-19.

The COVID-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF) confirmed it in a statement that seven personnel were detected positive on July 11th, however, SACC took quick action to report it to the Ministry of Health (MOH).

They also said that 11 close contacts were identified and have been asked to carry out COVID-19 screening tests as well as isolating themselves while waiting for the results.

According to CITF, the results of all 11 close contacts were negative, while the area in the PPV had been identified and disinfected by SCCC management.

The PPV at the SCCC has been open since June 7th and as of July 17th, a total of 230,000 people have been vaccinated at the SCCC smoothly.

CITF also clarified that they have adopted standard operating procedures (SOPs) in all PPVs from the beginning, including the SCCC PPV.

“Among the SOPs that the SCCC PPV management must ensure is that the instructions and rules in the COVID-19 Risk Control Programme are complied with, such as physical distancing and monitoring the staff and volunteers involved on an ongoing basis if there are symptoms,” they said.

The SCCC PVV staff also underwent body temperature measurements before starting work on a daily basis, and were required to wear masks and face shields while on duty.

CITF also said that they will continue to ensure that all PPVs comply with the guidelines provided as well as carry out proper SOP practices to ensure that there is no risk of infection in any PPV, especially at a time when the virus is now spreading within the community.

See, there’s nothing to worry about, guys! Everything is under control…

Just remember to do your part by wearing a face mask when you’re out, maintain physical distancing and sanitise your hands frequently!
