Car break-ins are, sadly, pretty common. One good thing, however, is that the police have managed to arrest the gang responsible for a number of those break-ins around the Klang Valley.
Dubbed the Qayyum GTI gang (we wanna know what GTI stands for, too), two men and two women between the ages of 27-37 were arrested in Jalan PJU 10, Damansara Damai, Petaling Jaya last Sunday. Phew, guess we can all breathe a little easier now!
According to The Sun Daily, Petaling Jaya district deputy police chief Supt Ku Mashariman Ku Mahmood said that a man and woman were arrested at a house in the area at around 7pm.
He added that after interrogation, another two suspects were picked up from an apartment nearby at about 1am. One of the suspects is an Indonesian woman.
In a statement released earlier today, Ku Mashariman said, “Police seized various items like seven handphones, four watches, three laptop computers, and car break-in tools. They operated in high-rise residential areas by smashing the windows of cars in unguarded car parks. They normally struck in the early morning when there were not many people in the car parks.” Ha, this is why people always warn you about car parks! Isolated places like these make it the prime spot for such activities.
It is suspected that the gang has been operating in the Klang Valley since May this year. As Dato’ Akhbar Bin Satar once said, “clever clever squirrel jump, one day fall to the ground also”.
Ku Mashariman said that the suspects have been remanded until Thursday. That’s today! Gotta wait and see what happens to them.
