Bazaar Ramadan In Terengganu Was Ordered To Shut For Breaching SOPs

The Tok Adis Bazaar in Kuala Ibai, Kuala Terengganu was ordered to close for 14 days until April 30th by the Terengganu Health Department for failing to comply with COVID-19 SOPs.

According to the New Straits Times, Terengganu Health Director Dr. Nor Azimi Yunus said that the order notice was issued to enable the bazaar operator to take measures to ensure traders and customers complied with SOPs.

“It is the first Ramadhan bazaar ordered to close in Terengganu for failing to comply with the SOPs,” he told BERNAMA.

“Among the SOPs that must be complied by traders and customers include taking their body temperature, registration using the MySejahtera app and wearing face mask when entering the area. As well as for the bazaar operator to only provide one-way access and only those above the age of 13 are allowed to enter,” he added.

A total of 69 Ramadhan bazaars involving 4,326 stalls are allowed to open in Terengganu with 22 of them in Kuala Terengganu alone, while there are 19 bazaars in Kemaman, 10 in Besut, six in Setiu, five in Dungun, five in Marang, and two in Hulu Terengganu.
