It’s time to get artsy fartsy in the city! Cendana and DBKL have come together once again to make arts and culture more accessible to the public.
Working alongside, they will be bringing back the second edition of Art In The City (AITC) with a host of fun programmes and activities for visitors. This year, AITC will be themed “I heART KL”, and will run from 18th-27th October.
The audience can look forward to three art installations by local artists, a video competition, Lucky Pao Market, a public art forum and workshop, along with other fringe activities that celebrate the vast range of creative talent we have here in Malaysia.
Keep your eyes peeled for workshops conducted by Filamen, Joshua Tea and Pamela Tan, who are the selected finalists from the open call for artistic proposals. Selected artworks will also be on display by the River of Life from 18th October-February 2020.
Interdisciplinary artist and social activist Aisyah Baharuddin will also be hosting a Public Art Workshop alongside Singaporean artist Lim Soo Ngee.
The video competition launched by CENDANA to celebrate the diversity of creativity also shows Kuala Lumpur through the lenses of different Malaysians. 8 lucky finalists have been selected from the many entries and their entries are up for voting on CENDANA’s Facebook page. Drop by to support the winner at the Lucky Pao Market on 19th October from 5pm-11pm. Also look forward to a host of creativity and musical performances, with food and market stalls to browse through.
