Are Juventus Trying To Get Rid Of Ronaldo?

Ronaldo’s time at Juventus may be coming to an end.

Sources say the Serie A club are looking to sell the Portuguese superstar in the summer in order to free up their wage bill.

Ronaldo is said to earn a staggering 28 million pounds a year in Turin – which, according to some estimates, is around four times more than the next highest-earner at the club.

Insiders say it is simply unsustainable to spend so much on a single player, especially after the team took a massive financial hit as a result of the global COVID-19 pandemic.

It is believed the money Juve will save by getting rid of Ronaldo, can be better spent on rebuilding and strengthening the squad.

Another factor behind his possible departure, is the club hierarchy’s frustration with the team’s lack of success in Europe.

You see, Juve brought Ronaldo in with the sole purpose of dominating the Champions League, but they’ve only gotten as far as the quarterfinals since his arrival.

So what next for Ronaldo?

Normally, clubs would be climbing over each other to sign a player who scored 71 goals in 94 appearances for Juventus, not to mention the immense marketing and branding opportunities he brings.

But the Portuguese will not come cheap…so the next question is: would clubs be willing to pay top dollar for a player who’s approaching his 36th birthday, especially in the current financial climate?

Only time will tell, so watch this space.
