The Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) mobilised a team to the condominium at Seksyen 2, Wangsa Maju, after receiving a call on the incident at 11:58 am on Tuesday (5 January), as reported by The Star.
In a statement, JBPM said: “When we reached the scene, a 26-year-old man was seen at a balcony attempting to end his own life.”
“The firefighters, dispatched along with the police, then tried to calm the man down and at around 1:30 pm, they were successful with help from a High Rise Rescue Team (HRRT).”
The suicide attempt is believed to have stemmed from family and monetary issues, said Wangsa Maju OCPD Supt Rajab Ahad Ismail, when contacted by reporters.
He also confirmed that an investigation paper on the incident has been opened.
