According to The Star, the two patients — a 67-year-old woman from China and 83-year-old female from the United States were discharged from the hospital on Wednesday (February 26)
This brings the total number of recoveries from the coronavirus to 22 in Malaysia (which is great!)
But unfortunately, in a statement, health director-general Datuk Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah said that a 53-year-old local woman with a recent travel history to Japan, was confirmed as Malaysia’s latest case - bringing the total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases to 23.
“After arriving back from Japan on February 23, the patient developed fever symptoms the following day and received treatment in a hospital in Kuala Lumpur. A Covid-19 test was done, and it was found to be positive on Wednesday,” he said in a statement (February 27).
Dr. Hisham also noted that the 66 individuals who were evacuated from Wuhan earlier this week (February 26) — 46 Malaysians and 20 non-Malaysians — were screened and had their samples taken to confirm for Covid-19.
“Based on the screenings, no individuals have developed any Covid-19 symptoms and they were placed in an observation centre for 14 days,” he added.
We’re still all good, guys! But make sure you don’t forget to take care of your health!
