Abang Polis And RELA Provide Food Aid To Those In Need Under Op Bantu!

On Wednesday (July 7th), police and members of the People’s Volunteer Corps (RELA) distributed around 50,000 food baskets under Op Bantu to Malaysians in need of food supplies.

According to NST, Home Minister, Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin said the operation was led by 157 district police chiefs, the Women Peace Police Squad (Amanita) and RELA members.

“RELA members will patrol neighbourhoods and get information on the targeted groups, as well as channeling aid to those who need help immediately.

“We are also calling on anybody who is short of food to go to the nearest district police headquarters for help. Those who can’t go can contact the Op Bantu officers via the WhatsApp number which will be announced soon,” he said.

Contributions will be coordinated by the National Welfare Foundation and Social Welfare Department, and will be distributed by Kembara Prihatin Negara (KPN) and Op Bantu, with the help of Amanita.

The food baskets contained rice, sugar, cooking oil and other essential items, and are part of the RM300,000 allocated to each member of parliament under the Pakej Perlindungan Rakyat dan Pemulihan Ekonomi (Pemulih) announced by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin recently.

“KPN and Op Bantu will help bridge the gap between police and the community. They will also identify social problems and forward them to the Women, Family and Community Development Ministry for action,” said Hamzah.

Ahh, we’re glad these people got the help they needed!
