In a press conference on Monday (9 November), Senior Minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said: “Kampung Sabah Baru is placed under the enhanced MCO because of the rising COVID-19 cases detected there”

He added that the Health Ministry conducted 441 screenings, with 102 positive cases detected as of Sunday (8 November). The EMCO will involve 701 homes and 3,917 residents.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister of Sabah, Datuk Masidi Manjun said that Sabah’s COVID-19 cases are slowly reducing, proving that measures taken by the authorities including the Health Department are effective.

“The number is lower compared to the 524 new cases and two deaths on Sunday (8 November), 616 new cases and three deaths on 7 November, and 1,199 new cases and one death on 6 November,” he said.

But we must not be complacent and must ensure that we practice and put in place, including adhering to the SOPs and ensuring that the CMCO and EMCO are still strictly followed, he added.

Sabah continues to record the highest daily COVID-19 numbers at 370 positive cases and seven deaths as of yesterday (9 November).
