Driving requires a lot of focus and your full attention. Even the smallest distraction like peeking at your phone for a few seconds while driving could cause a life-altering accident.

Here’s how to avoid being distracted and stay focused while driving, according to UbiCar:

#1 Commit to a phone-free driving

Studies have found that using a phone while you’re driving is dangerous, and it slows reaction time and increases the chances of getting into a crash due to the low awareness of what is happening on the road around them.

#2 Prep everything before driving!

Make sure that you put your seatbelt on, check your mirrors, set navigation or music - whatever you need for your drive.

#3 Your show can wait

Please, DON’T watch a TV show or a movie while you’re driving. Save the screen time for later.

#4 Plan your drive

Make sure you plan your drive, and put your phone on ‘Do Not Disturb’ mode so you will be less tempted to check a message if all of the pings are on pause. You can even customize your settings and create auto replies.

So, remember, if you’re the type who has trouble staying focused while driving, you should prepare before your trip!
