Twenty-four Malaysians who were scammed into accepting non-existing jobs in Cambodia have recently returned home.

Aged between 20 and 30-years-old, the group landed at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport on Friday (9 September) with Foreign Minister, Datuk Seri Saifuddin Abdullah.
According to The Star, there are still 29 Malaysians who are still waiting at the Cambodian immigration depot because they did not enter the country with valid travel documents.
Saifuddin said all the remaining Malaysians are safe at the depot.
He was previously in Phnom Penh on a working visit and managed to visit seven Malaysians at Phnom Penh immigration depot. There are another 22 Malaysians in the Sihanoukville region.

He added that out of 148 reported cases, 118 Malaysians who fell victim to job scams in Cambodia had been rescued.
Saifuddin also took to his personal Facebook page to thank the Malaysian government, the Cambodian government and Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen, who gave specific instructions to conduct an operation to save Malaysians there.
He also advised Malaysians to contact Unit Bantuan Konsular Rakyat Malaysia di Luar Negara and the Malaysian embassy in Phnom Penh so they can help check the legitimacy of the company.
As of today, there are around 500 Malaysian companies operating in Cambodia and about 5,000 Malaysians working and doing business in the country.
