15-year-old Falls To Her Death, After Learning Her Mother Couldn’t Make It For Her Puberty Ceremony

15-year-old falls to her death, after learning her mother couldn’t make it for her puberty ceremony

Mental health is an issue that should not be taken lightly.

Some people will say, “Oh, he/she’s just weak. Just accept it and move on.”

The thing is, even in this day and age, people don’t seem to understand that different people handle negative situations differently, and not everyone can just “deal with it”.

For this 15-year-old girl in Penang, just being a sensitive person led to her untimely demise.

After learning that her mother couldn’t return from Singapore (where she works) for her puberty ceremony, she fell to her death from the 11th floor of her flat in Bukit Mertajam.

Police say the ceremony was supposed to be held sometime soon, but it was called off after the girl’s mother couldn’t get off work amid the coronavirus pandemic.

According to the girl’s family members, it’s understood that she was a very sensitive person, and she probably took this to heart.

They add that she didn’t have any other problems, and that she was just sad after hearing the news.

This story is just one of many untoward incidents pertaining to mental health, and one simply cannot just turn the other cheek.

You may not be able to relate to this, but understand that there are people who don't shake things off so easily.

If you know someone who might be depressed, be it a family member or a friend, try to talk to them and offer your support.
