A 105-year-old senior citizen received his second COVID-19 jab in Kuala Krai, Kelantan.
Mamat Mat Ali, or better known as Pak Adek to the orang kampung, is estimated to be over a century old based on the flower mark on his IC.

According to Harian Metro, he and his wife, Sharipah Samat, who is 79-years-old, received the first dose of the vaccine on June 6th, and completed their second dose of the vaccine on Sunday (June 27th).
Mamat, who refers to himself as “pak cik”, thanked all the frontliners and health workers who came to his house all the way just to vaccinate him and his wife.
“Thank you for vaccinating pak cik and mak cik. I am unable to walk since two years ago, and it’s because of my age.
“Thankfully, I did not experience any side effects after the vaccination, except for the flu. Mak cik is also sneezing a lot. However, we both do not suffer from any critical illnesses except for poor hearing,” he said.
Deputy Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Datuk Ahmad Amzad Hashim also courted the senior citizens during the Vaccination Outreach Program.

Meanwhile, Mamat’s daughter, Syukriah said her mother and father were supposed to attend a vaccination appointment at the Kuala Krai Hospital in April, but had to decline due to their health problems, as well as the difficulty of boarding the boat.
“Ayah could not walk and had to be carried if he needed to attend an appointment. We have to go down the Kelantan river by boat for about 45 minutes. I am thankful for this Vaccination Outreach Program, that health workers and volunteers come to the house to give my parents their vaccines, as they are ill and not able to travel,” she said.
Our frontliners are our heroes! We’re glad that pak cik and mak cik got their COVID-19 jab already!
It’s our turn next… Have you registered for the COVID-19 vaccine?
