100kg Python Found Hiding In Old Tyre In Kelantan

Members of the Tok Bali Fire and Rescue Department took around 20 minutes to catch a reticulatus python or ular sawa batik in Malay, hiding in an old lorry tire at a construction site of a chalet in Kampung Raja Dagang in Kelantan on Sunday (August 15th).

The 4.5-metre python was found by a contractor who was doing construction work in the area. 

According to Astro AWANI, Head of Tok Bali Fire and Rescue station, Senior Fire Officer II, Ibrahim Mohd Rohni said that his team received the emergency call at 10:11 am regarding the snake. 

“A total of eight firefighters were sent to the scene to catch the snake,” he said. 

As soon as his team arrived at the location, the firefighters found the snake hiding in an old lorry tire and it took them around 20 minutes to safely catch the python.

He added that the snake was handed over to the Department of Wildlife and National Parks (PERHILITAN) for further action.
