Astro Radio’s SYOK Podcast, a digital audio platform has been selected by Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka (DBP) as the recipient of the prestigious ‘Anugerah Citra Sahabat DBP 2023’ in the private sector category, in conjunction with Hari Inovasi DBP, held on 4 October 2023.
The award was presented by YB Puan Lim Hui Ying, Deputy Minister of Education Malaysia, and representing Astro Radio to receive the award were Priya Dharshini, Head of Content, and Hakimi Tajul As’ari, Head of Podcast. The award-winning titles were adapted from DBP’s publications into three drama series from popular SYOK Podcast, including Malam Pengantin, fictional drama; Hikayat Gegar Pagi, historical Malay drama; and Belang Harimau Besi, historical drama based on the true event.

The Anugerah Citra Sahabat DBP recognises the most outstanding individuals, associations, companies, organisations, agencies or other parties who have played an important and effective role in helping DBP spread and uphold the language and literatures.
