Animate Pop-Up Store: A Dream for Anime Fans

On 29 November 2024, LaLaport BBCC welcomed Malaysia’s first-ever Animate MALAYSIA POP-UP STORE on Gourmet Street. Spanning 103 square metres, this store boasts over 30,000 anime and manga-related goods straight from Japan, making it a paradise for anime enthusiasts. The pop-up will run until 31 May 2025, giving fans ample time to snag official character merchandise previously only accessible overseas.

The grand opening featured a ribbon-cutting ceremony by Ms Lucine of KLP48, a Malaysian idol group and the 10th international branch of AKB48. As LaLaport BBCC’s official anime ambassador, Ms Lucine added a touch of glamour to the event, which is already drawing tens of thousands of visitors from Malaysia’s vibrant anime community.
