Icons Collide at Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week 2024

Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week (KLFW) is gearing up for its 12th edition, set against the iconic PETRONAS Twin Towers. Partnering with Suria KLCC and KLCC (Holdings) Sdn Bhd, the event will take place from July 29 to August 4, 2024, featuring over 50 designers and brands.

The event will be housed in a specially constructed 12,000 square-foot structure at KLCC Park, accommodating 500 guests per show, and will be live-streamed to the public for the first time on a large LED screen.

This year, KLFW will showcase a wide range of fashion styles. Attendees can look forward to contemporary designs, bold deconstructed pieces, sophisticated streetwear, and hybrid designs that blend comfort with high fashion. The event aims to push fashion boundaries and highlight the diversity of style.

Debuting at KLFW 2024 are trendy ready-to-wear labels such as Akudesign, Corak, Ghostboy, LARNEY, SHALS, and Tact, which have gained popularity among digitally savvy fashion enthusiasts. Bespoke designer Fuzana Mokhtaza will make her first appearance, alongside established designers like Rizman Ruzaini, Fiziwoo, Nurita Harith, and Alia Bastamam.

KLFW 2024 will also feature special segments such as “Fashion Forward Batik Malaysia” with Kelantan-based batik brand Ruzzgahara, blending modern fashion with traditional techniques. The “Design To Sustain” segment, driven by the allure of the new PEUGEOT 408, will showcase the creations of the 15 finalists from the KLFW Designer Search 2024, continuing the legacy of previous winner Uzair Shoid.

The event is supported by prominent sponsors including Suria KLCC, KLCC (Holdings) Sdn Bhd, AmBank Group, L'Oréal Paris, and Peugeot. Andrew Tan, Founder of KLFW, emphasizes that the event’s new iconic show space and diverse fashion showcase are a testament to its 12-year journey in promoting homegrown fashion.

Additionally, KLFW 2024 will include post-event initiatives like Fashion Connect.24, a networking and educational event designed to enhance the fashion industry supply chain, and the Kuala Lumpur Fashion Awards (KLFA), which will honor the nation’s celebrated designers and industry figures. Last year, KLFA awarded 14 coveted awards, including Brand of the Year and Fashion Icon of the Year, recognizing the resilience and innovation of Malaysian designers.
