Online shopping has taken over the world by default this year amid the global COVID-19 lockdown, and the industry seems to have been creeping more into our social media platforms lately as well!
WhatsApp is the latest platform to adopt online shopping, as it just rolled out its new “Carts” shopping feature on the Business app.
This adds to the new shopping experience that many small business owners are already creating for their customers on WhatsApp, just in time for the holiday season!
With WhatsApp fast becoming a store counter to discuss products and coordinate sales, and more and more shopping happening through chats, it wants to make buying and selling even easier.
The new “Carts” are great when messaging businesses that sell multiple items, like a local retail or e-commerce store.
The feature lets people quickly add goods or services they want from a business’ catalog, and then send the order as one message to the business.
This makes it much easier for people to let businesses know what they would like to buy, and for the business to keep track of order inquiries, manage requests from customers and close sales.
And the best part is, you don’t need to download a separate app - you can simply chat with businesses through the WhatsApp messenger app that you use every day.
Here’s how it works:
