But just because your shoe stank, doesn’t mean you have to throw the whole show away! Calm down!
Here are some of the best and most effective methods for eliminating odours in shoes, according to One Good Thing.
For the ultimate smell removal…
#1 Use baking soda
Pour baking soda and several drops of essential oils (for scent, optional) in each shoe and just leave it overnight to absorb all that moisture and smell.

Next, you need to place the shoes in a ziplock bag and freeze it overnight. Seriously, we’re not kidding, this will work, the freezing temperature will kill the odour-causing bacteria.
Or you can even use baking soda and a rubber band to make the ultimate odour eliminator! Just add a few tablespoons of baking soda into the center of a coffee filter, and add a couple drops of essential oils, if you want some scent. Tie it off with a rubber band and place the sachet in each shoe overnight to absorb all that moisture and smell…
#2 Use cotton balls

Drop a few drops of essential oils onto a couple of cotton balls, place them inside your shoes and leave them overnight. Any citrusy smell like lemon oil is the best for eliminating odour.
#3 Use the sun, it’s free!
Just simply place your shoes under the sun. Remember, the cause of bad odour is moisture, so leaving them in the sun can dry them and even prevent bacterial growth!

#4 Using your freezer?
Did you know that you can use your freezer to help remove the bad odour in your shoes? But remember to first place them in a ziplock bag so your freezer won’t get dirty! The freezing temperature will help kill the bacteria, which will go a long way towards making your shoes smell fresher.
