there’s now a next-day durian export service to singapore and hong kong

You may not know this, but Malaysia’s homegrown yield for durian exceeded approximately 341 thousand metric tonnes in 2018, but only 6.8 percent of it were set for export.

This new export service from DHL will now allow local durian business owners to tap into a growing foreign market for the more than 100 varieties of the King of Fruits found here.

DHL Express Malaysia has introduced Durian Express, a service that guarantees next-day delivery of the delicacy to Singapore and Hong Kong - two of Malaysia’s main trading partners for durian.

“The new normal of social distancing and restricted movement has accelerated the shift towards e-commerce. Likewise, it has had a profound impact on expectations of delivery speed,” said Julian Neo, Managing Director of DHL Express Malaysia and Brunei.

“With Durian Express, durian business owners can take advantage of our global network capabilities and expertise to get their products quickly in the hands of consumers abroad. The launch demonstrates our longstanding commitment to the Malaysian small and medium enterprise community, as we continue to help them look beyond our shores and realise their growth potential,” he added.

Durian business owners now have the flexibility of making shipments to their own overseas warehouses, commercial entities like greengrocers and supermarkets, or residential and office addresses.
