Stop Wearing Fake Contact Lenses, They Are Dangerous For Your Eyes!

Okay, maybe it is cheaper to buy cheap contact lenses online. Or sometimes, fake contact lenses look cooler because they have more colours and designs.

But cheaper and cooler does not mean that it’s safe!

According to Lens.Me, these fake contact lenses, or often called fashion contact lenses are dangerous for your eyes. However, the danger isn’t directly associated with the lenses themselves, but rather how you put them in and take them out.

If you purchase contact lenses without a prescription, there’s a good chance that they won’t fit correctly. This not only leads to discomfort and irritation, but it can actually scratch the surface of your eyes.

If left untreated, you could end up with an eye infection or even lose your eyesight if it gets bad enough.

All new contact lens wearers will receive a prescription from an eye doctor, and will go through a training process that shows you exactly how to insert and remove your lenses safely.

This ensures that you don’t rip your contact lens or scratch your eye in the process, and purchasing fake contact lenses includes no such training.

Any contact lens that you purchase with a prescription has been tested and approved by the Medical Device Authority (MDA) Malaysia.

Many fake contact lenses sold at shopping malls or from online stores don't have that approval!

We have no idea what material they are made out of or how safe they may or may not be, when inside our eyes.

So, guys, please… take some time to get a prescription from your eye doctor and only purchase lenses from reputable sources because the health of your eyes just isn’t worth taking the chance on unknown products that could cause permanent damage.

Please take care!
