As human beings, whether you like it or not, you are going to go through a time where your circle of friends will get smaller by the year.

Maybe you have so many great memories with them that you fail to realize that we need to shed certain friendships in order for you to grow in life. Yes, it’s a hard pill to swallow because, let’s be honest, the feeling of having lots of friends can feel… comforting.

Of course it seems easier to keep in touch with each other when you guys still go to the same school, but once you leave, it will get harder and harder to see each other, and you know it, too - college, getting your first job, starting a family, moving to another state or country - life moves on and so should we.

As we get older, we start to consider that there is more to be factored into being called a friend.

According to Society19, the smaller your circle of trusted people are, the less inclined you are to dramas. People tend to put on a fake facade in order to get what they want in life. Yes, we all do it… but when dealing with friends, you need to know who is real or not.

It’s important that you know who you are letting into your circle because those you have around you can influence your being in the right or wrong direction.

And as you get older, you’ll see how small your circle has gotten and you have to realize that it is okay and it’s also okay if you miss the group of friends you used to have.
