Malaysia is in the midst of a third wave of COVID-19 cases, and as the daily numbers continue to reach new highs, more funds are of course needed to handle the situation.
With that, FashionValet has come to set up another COVID-19 relief fund, to help raise money for red zone areas, particularly Sabah, which is currently the worst state affected by the virus.
The local fashion platform has again teamed up with the Islamic Medical Association of Malaysia COVID-19 response team (IMARET), this time to raise RM500,000 in order to help frontliners, along with the community there.
The money raised will also be used to mobilise medical volunteers to assist health facilities, as well as supply medical and general equipment throughout the country, especially in critical red zones.
Cases in Sabah are continuing to rise and there isn’t enough medical equipment or staff to cater to the situation.
The initiative has already received positive feedback, and in less than 24 hours after being posted yesterday (October 13th), the fund has collected more than RM139,000 from almost 4,200 donors so far.
