While adults are being reminded about washing their hands regularly and complying to the social distancing rule during the coronavirus outbreak, let's not forget that our young ones are also vulnerable to this virus and need proper guidance to help combat COVID-19.
In a collaboration of more than 50 organizations including the World Health Organization, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and Save the Children, a children’s storybook was released to educate children and young people to protect themselves from the coronavirus. This storybook aims to help the younger generation understand and cope with the COVID-19 outbreak.

As COVID-19 is forcing many children to be homebound, the #ReadtheWorld initiative aims to help children feel less isolated at home. The storybook titled “My Hero is You, How Kids can fight Covid-19"- a project of the Inter-Agency Standing Committee Reference Group on Mental Health and Psychosocial Support in Emergency Settings is about how children can protect themselves, their families and friends from the coronavirus and how to manage emotions during this time of hardship. This storybook will help bring the creative and imaginative world of children’s stories into the lives of young people across the world.
The storybook is aimed at children ages 6 to 11 years old and to reach as many children as possible, this has already been translated to six different languages and more than 30 others in the pipeline.
