The Visual Arts Projects is an initiative by MyCreative Ventures Sdn Bhd (MyCreative) to elevate the Malaysian contemporary art scene and young local artists.
This year, the exhibition features 29 creations by 29 finalists handpicked from hundreds of applications from across the nation.
Among the featured winning artworks is a piece by Nur Amira Hanifi (@mira_hanafi90), titled 'Domination', which came in third place.
The piece features 61 portraits of Leonardo Da Vinci using different rates of bacterial growth in various stages.
If that does not intrigue you, we don’t know what will.
Yushairi Baharudin, Project Director of MyCreative, hopes that the initiative not only encourages passionate fresh talents, but acts as a testament to the rich local visual art scene in Malaysia.
The initiative is also intended to be a platform for industry experts to discover fresh artwork and their creators.
TLDR; this weekend presents an opportunity to get cultured.
And you know what they say about opportunity? You have to grab it!
