1. Myrtle Lemon Tea Plantation, Sabak Bernam

Many people don’t know there’s a beautiful lemon myrtle tea plantation in Sekinchan… and no, lemon myrtle is not like the fruit in case you were wondering, but a type of flower which can be turned into a delicious citrus-sweet tea! 

Myrtle tea plantations are commonly found in Australia but are also recently available here in Malaysia, so if you are planning a visit to this beautiful plantation, we bet you will love the view of the greenery and paddy fields which is perfect for pictures. 

Not only that, there are a few hammocks provided for you to enjoy a relaxing time while sipping on a cup of warm myrtle lemon tea. 

You can also buy products made from myrtle tea at their store, and we suggest you get the hand soap, body soap, or Myrtle tea which can be great souvenirs, or try the fresh lemon tea drink!

The entrance fee is RM3 for adults, RM1 for kids below 7 years old, and the plantation only opens on Saturday, Sunday and public holidays from 9 am to 5 pm.

Did you know that Sabak Bernam is well-known for its beautiful paddy fields?

If you are looking for a place with a view to just relax, well, this is the right place for you to come with your loved ones. Enjoy taking a stroll around its paddy fields, and don’t forget to take some pictures to share on the ‘gram! 

There is also a bakeshop that you could stop at called Ah Ma House, which sells traditional Chinese snacks such as biscuits, crackers, and traditional baked goodies like pineapple tarts, kuih kapit and kuih bangkit (tapioca cookies). 

You can also visit the Paddy Gallery to learn more about seed planting and the process of harvesting rice, which sounds super fun!

 3. The National Botanical Garden, Shah Alam

The National Botanical Garden is an agro-tourism park designed for leisure purposes as well as for research. The green, serene, and beautiful sight can be a feast for the eyes. 

Besides the greenery, this park also offers the famous four seasons house where you can experience all the four seasons namely; winter, spring, autumn, and summer all at one time, which will be open to the public in early 2021. 

Visitors can also visit its cactus garden, orchid garden, spice garden, and fruit garden, to just enjoy and jalan-jalan with your family and friends. 

Entrance fees are RM3 for those who are 12 to 54 years old, RM1 for children who are 6-11 years old, RM1 for senior citizens who are 55 years old and older, and free for OKU. The operation hour is from Tuesday to Sunday (7:30 am to 4:30 pm).

The Sungai Selangor Dam offers an amazing view and a lake that is crystal-clear. Besides the view, there are also fishing and cycling activities that you can enjoy there. Not only that but, if you stop by at night, you can also enjoy watching the night sky filled with stars while relaxing with your family and friends.

5. Paya Indah Discovery Wetlands, Kuala Langat

Paya Indah Discovery Wetlands is a perfect place for those who love to isolate themselves or enjoy going to quiet and peaceful places where they can immerse themselves with nature. The view is breathtakingly beautiful because of the trees, large fields, and natural plants such as water lilies. 

This special place has become a habitat area for more than 300 species of animals and if you are a bird lover, you can enjoy bird watching here, too! 

Not only that, but you can also enjoy activities such as feeding the rhinos, crocodiles, and many types of fish as well as, fishing, cycling, kayaking, jungle trekking, and many other activities! 

Another unique activity offered here is the "Safari Insta-Tour" which is a 45-minute ride on a truck to three scenic locations namely the Bamboo Trail, Lake Sendayan, and Rumah Melayu. The rates are from RM 35 on weekdays, and RM 45 on weekends, and MyCard holders get to enjoy a 20% discount, and it is open daily from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm!

6. Selangor Fruit Valley, Kuala Selangor

Selangor Fruit Valley is the perfect place to visit, especially if you love local fruits, as they offer rambutan, papaya, starfruit, guava, and many types of other fruits on its farm that you can enjoy for free!  

Not only that, there are other attractions and activities such as the mini petting zoo, agricultural center, traditional houses, kelulut bee farm, and also kayaking!

Just giving you guys a heads up, the place is huge, so if you ever got tired of walking, there is a tram service you can take around the park while enjoying the fresh air, and if you’re feeling a thirsty, there is a coconut stall where you can just chill and quench your thirst with fresh coconut water. 

The Selangor Fruit Valley opens every day except Friday (from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm) and entrance fees are RM 15 (adults), RM 10 (60 years and above), RM 10 (OKU and kids 4-12 years old), and free for kids below 4 years old.

7. Pulau Ketam, Klang

Pulau Ketam is an interesting destination to visit where visitors can enjoy the peaceful surrounding of the beach and carry out exciting activities with friends and family. 

In order to reach Pulau Ketam, you need to take a ferry which will cost you RM14 per person for a two-way trip or if you’d like to get there faster, you can take a speed boat which will cost you RM20 per person for a two-way trip. Not bad at all!

Pulau Ketam is a fishing village populated by the Chinese community. It is also famous for its many seafood restaurants serving delicious menus. Some of the activities you may enjoy here include renting a bicycle which you can ride around the kampung and meet the locals. There are also beautiful murals that you can enjoy or you can visit the breathtakingly beautiful Chinese temples. 

There’s no other place where you can enjoy and experience the ambiance of a fishing village like Pulau Ketam!
