We just got back from Hong Kong, and honestly, we are still floating. This trip was extra special because our long-time friends at The Walt Disney Company, through Disney+, invited us to the Disney+ Originals Preview 2025 at Hong Kong Disneyland. Imagine the magic of Disney mixed with major Hollywood, Korean and Japanese star power. That was exactly the energy in the room.
From the moment we stepped into the preview hall on 13 November, you could feel how much creative momentum Disney has lined up for next year and beyond. We got first looks at teasers (do not worry, we will update you once Disney+ drops them publicly), heard exciting announcements live from the stars themselves, and even experienced that surreal moment of watching future global hits being revealed right in front of us.
Here are some of the biggest highlights from the preview, straight from our seats in the room:
Merry Berry Love (working title), a Korean and Japanese romantic comedy coming in 2026
One of the sweetest moments was the announcement of Merry Berry Love, a brand new cross border romantic comedy that immediately stole the crowd’s attention.
The series stars:

Ji Changwook (The Manipulated, The Worst of Evil) as Lee Yubin, a down on his luck Korean spatial designer

Mio Imada (Tokyo Revengers) as Karin Shirahama, a strawberry farmer from Japan
Directed by Kim Soojung (Semantic Error) and written by Lee Jaeyoon (Divorce Insurance), the show is being filmed across both Korea and Japan, and produced by CJ ENM with co-production from Nippon TV. From the little sneak peek we saw, this one is going to be especially heartwarming. The series is set to release in 2026.
Made In Korea confirmed for Season 2, with Season 1 releasing this December
Just moments before the announcement went live, we were sitting in a packed auditorium as Hyun Bin, Jung Woosung, Woo Dohwan and director Woo Minho walked on stage for a question and answer session. The energy in the room was electric.
Then came the big news. Made In Korea has officially been renewed for Season 2, and Season 1 will premiere on Disney+ this 24 December.
Set in 1970s Korea, the series follows:

Hyun Bin as Baek Kitae, a KCIA agent by day and smuggler by night

Jung Woosung as Jang Geonyoung, the one prosecutor who refuses to be bought

Woo Dohwan as Baek Kihyun, Kitae’s brother who is caught in the middle
Ambition, betrayal and power struggles take centre stage, and from what we have seen, this is set to be one of Disney+’s most gripping Korean series yet.

Perfect Crown featuring IU and Byeon Wooseok set to arrive in 2026
Another major moment was the official reveal of Perfect Crown, starring IU and Byeon Wooseok.
Set in a reimagined modern day Korea ruled under a constitutional monarchy, the story follows:

Grand Prince Wan (Byeon Wooseok), the people’s favourite royal

Heeju (IU), heir to one of Korea’s largest conglomerates
With political pressures rising and the prince being pushed to marry, the two agree to a marriage of convenience. As expected, things do not go quite according to plan.
Directed by Park Joonhwa (Alchemy of Souls, What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim), this romantic comedy is already shaping up to be one of the most anticipated Korean titles of 2026.
From crime thrillers to royal romances to cross border love stories, the 2025 Disney+ Originals Preview reminded us why Disney+ continues to champion bold, diverse and award winning storytelling. Being there in person in Hong Kong Disneyland, surrounded by creators, stars and fellow fans, made the experience truly unforgettable.
