Taeyong, the renowned rapper, is set to make an appearance at Loewe's spring 2024 menswear show in Paris, scheduled for Saturday at noon. This event serves as a precursor to his partnership with the luxury fashion brand, as Taeyong has frequently been seen sporting Loewe's runway styles, often incorporating them into his casual outfits. During Loewe's fall 2023 women's fashion show in Paris last March, he made a statement by donning a padded leather shirt and leather board shorts.
Known for his affinity for vibrant hair colors such as purple, silver, and fluorescent green, Taeyong boasts an impressive following of 11 million on Instagram. On this platform, he showcases his numerous tattoos, eclectic fashion sense, and mesmerizing dance moves.
Loewe's creative director, Jonathan Anderson, expressed his admiration for Taeyong's distinctive style, stating, "We love his idiosyncratic style." Anderson also expressed excitement about the collaboration, given Taeyong's diverse talents in songwriting, performing, and visual creativity.
Taeyong, in turn, expressed his admiration for Loewe, not only for its designs but also for its philosophy and unique approach to communication. He alluded to Loewe's reputation as a cultural brand that values craftsmanship and unrestrained self-expression.
Aside from his involvement with NCT, Taeyong is also a member of the South Korean supergroup SuperM. Just this month, he released his first solo album titled "Shalala."
Taeyong joins an esteemed roster of global brand ambassadors for Loewe, which includes Josh O'Connor, Tang Wei, Taylor Russell, Leo Wu, Stephane Bak, and the South Korean girl group Nmixx.
What an exciting journey, congratulations Taeyong!
