Vanishaantini Pellarameas, the reigning Mrs Malaysia World 2023, is set to captivate the audience at the upcoming Mrs World pageant in Las Vegas this month with an extraordinary national costume.
The Malaysian finalist, affectionately known as Vanishaa, is poised to showcase the largest wau costume ever created in Malaysia during the pageant finals commencing on January 19th.
As unveiled on the official Instagram page of Mrs Malaysia World, Vanishaa revealed the record-breaking costume, named 'Puteri Wau Bulan,' at a Klang hotel on December 30th. This monumental attire, crafted by Sarawak designer Saran Anak Lagong, reflects a profound commitment to highlighting Malaysia's diverse cultural heritage through its intricate design.
The 'Puteri Wau Bulan' costume boasts traditional floral batik patterns, featuring a mesmerizing array of orchids, hibiscus, pagoda flowers, ixoras, bougainvillea, roses, and frangipanis.
With dimensions of 3.8 meters in height and 4.8 meters in width, this spectacular creation weighs approximately 10 kilograms.
Vanishaa, driven by a deep sense of national pride, aims to elevate Malaysia's standing on the international stage through her representation in this prestigious pageant. During the dress debut event, she expressed her enthusiasm, stating, "I am proud to represent Malaysia at the international level with this costume as I want to showcase something unique and unprecedented," as reported by Bernama.
The 27-year-old entrepreneur has diligently prepared for the competition amidst her busy schedule, focusing on both mental and physical aspects. Since March, Vanishaa has dedicated herself to rigorous catwalk training while simultaneously managing her business and actively participating in social work.
She is determined to give her best performance at the Mrs World pageant, aspiring to make Malaysia proud and leave a lasting impression on the global stage.
