Astro Originals, synonymous with quality, premium drama series has created a phenomenon of its own with its range of stories and genres.
Following KUDETA, One Cent Thief and High Council, Liar came to a close with its 12th episode premiering on Saturday, 10 June via On Demand and on Astro Ria (Ch 104), on Monday, 12 June.
Since its premiere on 25 March, Liar has received overwhelming reponse from fans from across backgrounds, race and age. Carrying a universal theme, the story of Liar revolves around two individuals who met on a date that takes an unexpected turn the next day. One deceives the other. Liar is a local adaptation from an original international series which was a nominee for Best Thriller Series at the BAFTA Awards and British Screenwriters’ Award.
To celebrate the success of Liar, a special screening of the Finale was held on Friday, 9 June, especially for fans who have been on the edge of their seats for the anticipated culmination of ‘whodunnit thriller’ series’. The screening was held at a prestigious hotel, and graced by the presence of loyal fans including the influential. At the screening, Executive Producer of Liar and Vice President, Head of Astro Shaw & Malay Nusantara Business, Raja Jastina Raja Arshad with the Director of Liar, Imri Nasution and lead cast, Tiz Zaqyah, Tony Eusoff and Aniq Suhair met and interviewed with fans.

Liar was produced by Astro Shaw in collaboration with Double Vision and All3Media Internasional. The original series was produced by Two Brothers Pictures for ITV and Sundance TV in 2017.
Previously, Astro Originals presented a slate of premium drama series from a variety of genres and entertainment value. These stories offered fans fresh storylines, inspired by the revelation of local issues including ‘Kampong Pisang Bersiri-Siri’ (No. 1 local comedy film franchise), ‘Projek: Anchor SPM’ (introducing the coming-of-age genre), ‘I-Tanggang’ (mental torture from Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy), ‘Dukun Diva’ (female con artist), ‘Kuasa’ (fictional influential family in the entertainment world), ‘Histeria The Series’ (continuation from 2008 box office film, Histeria), Murder By Moon Light (a witty murder mystery ‘Whodunnit’), One Cent Thief (local ‘heist’ and theft of 1 cent) dan High Council (exposing school gangsterism which shook the nation).
After Liar, Astro Originals will present Jack Yusof played by Datuk Rosyam Nor, which marks his first appearance as a lead in a drama series after 10 years, from 17 June, every Saturday, at 12am via On Demand and on Astro RIA (Ch 104) from 26 June, with new episodes every Monday, 9pm.
