We got to speak to Charlie about his experience exploring the Lion City, where he also shares what he misses most about traveling, how he copes being away from home when touring and more!

I just want to ask you, how have you been since we last saw you in Singapore, in Southeast Asia in 2019? How have you been?

Charlie: Has it been that long? I mean 2019, things have definitely changed but Singapore feels like the warm and nice place that I remember it being.

Well, we’ve been under lockdown for the past two years… What do you miss most about traveling?

Charlie: Um, I miss arriving. I always like a place when I get there. It is the travel aspect, which is not my favorite. But I’ve grown to just kind of be in the moment and like it a little bit more. I kinda used to really dislike it, but now I like it. I like arriving in Asia, for example.

Okay, so a little more about traveling, before 2019 you’ve been touring the world for all your shows and it’s such a long journey… How do you cope being away from home for a long period of time?

Charlie: I try to incorporate some familiarity into unfamiliar things, whether that be eating food that reminds me of being in Los Angeles or New Jersey. But I also like embracing the culture and that, in some strange way, makes me feel at home as well.

Because there’s a lot of similarities between how people lived here (Singapore) and how people lived where I’m from originally.

How are you enjoying Singapore?

Like I said before, I feel so fortunate that I get to be taken around and given the rundown on all of Singapore’s coolest sights. I am very jet lagged most of the time so I’m happy there’s a huge coffee culture in Singapore and I’m taking advantage of that.

I’ve been having a lot of fun. I haven’t, I don’t think I’ve had any signature Singaporean food quite yet but I’m eating very well. I love food.

This is my last question for you. It’s not really a question but what do you want to say to all your Singaporean friends, or Southeast Asia friends?

I like that they’re my Southeast Asia friends. They’re all my friends and I appreciate their support for all these years. This next album is very important to me and I am very happy that everyone has been liking the unreleased versions of all the songs on the album.

I’m excited for all my Southeast Asia friends to hear the final product.

Ahh we’re so excited for the new album and it was very nice speaking to Charlie, himself!

Guys, if you wanna know more about what Charlie’s been up to while he’s in Singapore, stay tuned to STB and Charlie Puth’s social media platforms this October!
