According to the Malay Mail, the upcoming cooking show titled Adam Liaw’s Heritage Kitchen will reportedly: “Promote Australia’s finest produce in cooking Malaysian dishes, while showcasing Australia’s scenic regions to promote tourism destinations as well as promote personal stories of Australian farmers to support the cultural connection between the land down under and Malaysia.”

There have also been plans to sell Heritage Kitchen to broadcasters such as SBS or the Asian Food Network which broadcasts their programmes across the region.

Not only that, but the cookbook author and television presenter was also awarded a A$394,900 (which is equivalent to RM1.18 million) grant funded by the Australian Foreign Affairs and Trade Department’s “public diplomacy” category.

Born in Penang to a Malaysian-Chinese father and a Singaporean-English mother, he moved to Adelaide when he was just three years old!

He previously worked as a corporate lawyer for The Walt Disney Company before winning the cooking competition MasterChef in 2010.

We hope Adam will be showcasing satay, kway teow, and of course the superior Malaysian dish (nasi lemak, obviously) in his upcoming series!
