It was a weekend filled with fun activities, vibrant music and colourful decorations over in Kuching, Sarawak.
Sitok Kuching, a marketplace showcasing the modern-day Kuching’s contemporary life made its debut in Kuching, Sarawak over the weekend (December 6th-8th), which saw them receiving over 15,000 attendees!
Strategically located at the Kuching waterfront, Sitok Kuching is yet another initiative to attract the world to visit Kuching, The Gateway of Sarawak.
With the official campaign slogan “Sarawak, More To Discover”, the three day market was officiated by Sarawak’s Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Youth and Sports, YB Datuk Haji Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, and had over 59 independent businesses from Kuching and West Malaysia showcasing their creative retail offerings.
From live performances, artistic workshops, scrumptious food and fun activities for the whole family, Kuching’s iconic waterfront was buzzing with excitement and entertainment all around.
Named after the Sarawakian slang meaning ‘here’, Sitok Kuching aims to showcase Sarawak’s ‘here’ and ‘now’. Offering a rather different perspective from Sarawak’s previous arts and culture festivals, Sitok Kuching focuses on a fresh new outlook of The Sarawak’s heritage. From photographable opportunities to unique art installations, the three-day marketplace boasts the opportunity for travellers to experience the rich and diverse culture of the people of Sarawak all at the cosmopolitan heart of modern day Kuching.
We definitely wish we were there. Did you get a chance to visit Sitok Kuching?
