Esports gamers, get ready for a gaming experience like never before!

The world's biggest esports event, The World Electronic Sports Games (WESG) 2019-2020 Asia Pacific Final is coming to Malaysia! Brought to you by Alibaba Sports, a subsidiary of China’s tech giant Alibaba, and Hong Kong’s Esports International Group (EIG), the event will be taking place on January 3rd to the 5th 2020 at the Sunway Pyramid Convention Centre in Petaling Jaya.

A total of 61 teams and 260 players from 58 countries are set to compete in all your favorite games from DOTA2, CS:GO, Starcraft 2, and Pro Evolution Soccer, for a chance to win a share of $300,000 USD! In fact, the total available prize pool for the entire WESG 2019-2020 season amounts up to $5,500,000 USD.

The winning team will also advance to the WESG Grand Final in Chongqing, China in March 2020.

The esports industry in Malaysia has been growing rapidly over the past few years. According to Jason Fung, Senior Director, Global Esports, Alibaba Sports, this is the first time they are hosting this event outside of China, all thanks to the incredible support they received from their partners in making it possible to choose Malaysia as a host country.

The event is co-organized by EIG, Malaysian Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), and SBS Events, with support from sponsors including  ASUS Republic of Gamers and Mayflower, Asean First Venture, Brand Soul, eGG Network, and Fintechport, Astro and Ticket2U.

In conjunction with the WESG 2019-2020 Asia Pacific Final, the WESG Fintech Conference will also be happening at Grand Ballroom, Sunway Resort Hotel on January 2nd 2020. The conference will feature keynote speakers Prof. Simon Choi, Mr. Ricky Lau, and Mr. Brian Au, covering topics such as Fintech of esports in Malaysia and 5G development in esport games.

Tickets will go on sale from December 9th 2019 on the Ticket2U website, https://www.ticket2u.com.my/, with prices as low as RM 10 for a day pass to RM 850 for a VIP pass.
