The COVID-19 pandemic has affected everyone and everything, especially live concerts and events, including the highly anticipated 2020 MET Gala.
However, the Miss Universe Malaysia 2020 event and gala night has decided that they will conduct the pageant using the “new normal” arrangement due to the pandemic.

So, don’t worry, you won’t miss a thing! You can still watch the pageant from the comfort of your own home.
According to the Malay Mail, the organiser plans to livestream the annual pageant on the 15th of September at pm, and people can watch it from home in the form of e-Gala.

In a Facebook post, Miss Universe Malaysia Organisation national director, Datin Elaine Daly, and our very own Miss Universe Malaysia 2019 Shweta Sekhon announced that the show will be streamed via the organisation’s website.
Elaine said: “The public can watch the live-streamed competition by purchasing tickets on the Miss Universe website, and 20% of the proceeds will be given to charity”
She added that viewers will be able to influence the choice of winners as fans’ votes will also count to determine the next beauty queen, including the winners of the subsidiary titles - Miss Body Beautiful and Best in Evening Gown will also be determined by the same method.

The winner will represent Malaysia at the Miss Universe competition and will be receiving a cash prize and sponsored prizes valued at RM180,000, along with a full scholarship from HELP University. Wow!
Judges will include actor, director, and producer Datuk Hans Isaac, Glojas by Smart International Aesthetic CEO Datin Selwinder Kaur, La Jung Aesthetic Clinic medical director, and aesthetic medical practitioner Dr. Nicholas Lim and Miss Universe Malaysia 2012 Deborah Henry, Creative Designer of Carven Ong Couture, Carven Ong; Michelle Lim, director of Esthetics International Group; Celebrity Stylist, Founder and Creative Director of Shawn Cutler Group of Salons, Shawn Loong and Elizabeth Lee, co-founder of Bowerhaus.
This year marks the pageant’s 10th anniversary since it was revamped in 2010.
