We loved living vicariously through Emily Cooper, an ambitious marketing executive from Chicago who unexpectedly lands her dream job in Paris. Suddenly, she finds herself in a life filled with intoxicating adventures and surprising challenges as she juggles work, friendships, and romance.

Now more entrenched in her life in Paris, Emily is getting better at navigating the city but still struggles with the idiosyncrasies of French life. Before we jump into the new chapter of Emily’s entanglements this 22 December, let’s rehash all of our favourite memories from Season 1 and take a look at what’s to come in Season 2:

#1 Emily’s first Instagram photo in Paris because pics or it didn’t happen!

Emily (Lily Collins) leaves her life and boyfriend in Chicago for her new job in Paris. Upon arriving at her quaint apartment, she sets up her Instagram account with the handle @emilyinparis and the rest is history. She posts her first picture and declares her arrival in the city of love. This became a truly iconic moment as we saw Malaysians photoshopping Emily in a more local environment, taking her on a visit to Perlis, Ampang, and Bangi.

Where will Emily discover next? Get excited for Season 2 as there are more Instagrammable locations to come including the beautiful beaches of Saint-Tropez.

#2 Emily is enchanted by Gabriel, the Head Chef from Normandy.

Nobody can ever forget meeting Gabriel (Lucas Bravo), the gorgeous Frenchman and Head Chef of a charming little bistro called Les Deux Compères.

Emily and Gabriel’s meet-cute happens when she mixes up the floors of her apartment building and bangs on the wrong door. The two cross paths more than once, and their romance grows each time despite certain obstacles in the way.

If you thought the universe was against Gabriel and Emily uniting in the first season, just wait for what comes next in Season 2. Find out if Emily will stick to her French omelettes or if she will trade it in for a Sunday roast with her new suitor, Alfie (Lucien Laviscount).

#3 Emily stands in for a model in the now-iconic sculptural white dress.

In Episode 9, Emily finds herself modeling a heavenly white Pierre Cadault dress as part of a fundraising gala when the model that was supposed to wear the dress drops out.

It seems that the night might go off without a hitch until avant-garde streetwear designers Gray Space bid over €38,000 on the masterpiece and proceeded to splatter it with grey paint. In real life, the dress was created by French designer Stephane Rolland, and Lily Collins even got to keep a copy of the dress.

If you loved all the bold looks from the series, Season 2 promises fabulous gloves, thigh-high boots and fun prints to fall in love with.

#4 Emily meets Mindy, a billionaire’s daughter who has the voice of a nightingale.

Name a more iconic duo, we can wait!

Emily meets Mindy Chen (Ashley Park), an au pair and fellow expatriate who helps her navigate her new life abroad. Mindy is an aspiring singer who has previously appeared on the Chinese version of American Idol. You can catch her sweet voice in Season 1 Episode 6 where she belts out her rendition of Édith Piaf’s ‘La Vie en Rose’.

If you’re a fan of Mindy, catch the Best of Mindy, and look forward to more from your favourite Chinese pop star as she takes steps to achieve her dreams and even finds love along the way.

#5 Emily gets acquainted with Camille, a mademoiselle from Champagne.

Emily was struggling to buy flowers at a florist when Camille intervenes and helps with the conversation. The pair become fast friends but not long after, Emily discovers that Camille is the girlfriend of Emily’s neighbour, Gabriel, whom she just kissed.

Will Emily and Gabriel be able to keep their affinity for each other a secret?
