Rejoice for our neighbouring country! Indonesia has received its first shipment of coronavirus vaccine from China!

Its president, Joko Widodo said the government is now preparing a mass inoculation programme.

Joko added that the Southeast Asian country received 1.2million doses of the vaccine that the country has been testing since August.

While the government plans on receiving another 1.8 million doses early next year, late-stage trials of the vaccine are under way in Brazil and Turkey. The interim results on its efficiency is expected to be out by mid-December.

However, the vaccine still needs to undergo the country’s food and drug agency, while the administration continues to prepare for distribution across their people.

Indonesia’s COVID-19 cases have increased in recent weeks. We hope the vaccine will be able to work its magic and put a stop to the spread of this deadly virus.

Are we next? We shall see. #StaySafe
