Coordinating Minister of the National COVID-19 Immunisation Programme, Khairy Jamaluddin advised the public to not worry as those who were at the PPV had followed proper security measures including sanitisation procedures that were carried out frequently.

According to Astro AWANI, Khairy said that it is difficult to determine the cause of the infection at IDCC as the cases in Selangor are too high.

“We are not sure how the infected person brought the virus into the IDCC, but the good news is their ‘virus load’ is low, probably because many of them have been vaccinated,” he said.

He also added that those who were found positive did not experience any serious symptoms.

The 204 volunteers were confirmed positive after a mass screening was conducted on July 10th.

Khairy said that the COVID-19 mass screening was done as soon as they received reports that two of the volunteers there tested positive for the virus.

He also advised the public who were at the Ideal Convention Centre (IDCC) Vaccination Center (PPV), Shah Alam on July 9th at 4 pm to monitor any symptoms of COVID-19 for at least 10 days!

Those present on July 10th, 11th and 12th were also advised to monitor for any symptoms and self-isolate for 10 days.

If you’re feeling unwell, please call a doctor! Stay safe, everyone.
