Walk-In COVID-19 Vaccine Jabs Only After All Pre-Registered Get Appointments!

Jun 18, 2021

Don’t worry, we just have to wait a little bit longer…

Walk-in vaccinations will soon be made available to Malaysians, but ONLY after those who have already registered receive their jabs!

According to FMT, National COVID-19 Immunisation Programme (NIP) coordinating minister Khairy Jamaluddin said this was among the government’s strategies to achieve herd immunity by the end of the year.

Through this approach, the authorities are expecting the vaccination exercise to be expedited to achieve the 80% herd immunity target by the end of the year, or earlier.

However, the government would first prioritize vaccinating those who have already signed up for appointments either through NIP’s online portal or the MySejahtera app before opening to walk-ins.

“We are confident that after dispensing to all those who registered for appointments, we will open the vaccination centres (PPVs) to walk-in individuals, for example in Kuala Lumpur. Under this walk-in concept, those who have not registered can walk-in for an appointment at the PPV,” Khairy said.

So far, Malaysia has administered the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccines to more than 3.6 million Malaysians, with over 1.4 million more having already received their second dose.

We’re all in this together, guys! Let’s get vaccinated!
