According to The Edge Markets, voters who tested positive for COVID-19 are prohibited from using taxis or e-hailing services to get around.
He stated in a statement on Monday (14 November) that COVID-19 positive voters are not allowed to stop by anywhere else before or after voting and must return home immediately.
He also advised COVID-19 positive voters to maintain a safe social distance, which is also strongly advised for other voters, in order to guarantee the voting process is safe and in particular, to lower the risk of infection.
DG Hisham also instructs voters to bring their own hand sanitizer or use the one provided at the polling place and for those who have not yet registered for and received a booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine to do so right away in order to protect themselves and those around them.
“Let's work together to reduce the risk of Covid-19 infection to voters and staff at polling stations throughout GE15,” he said.
On Sunday, DG Hisham took to his Facebook page to share an infographic with general suggestions for GE15 voters to reduce the risk of COVID-19 infection. Check it out:
