Police Are Investigating Individuals Selling Fake Digital Vaccination Certificates Online

The police have opened an investigation paper on the sale of fake digital vaccination certificates on social media.

According to Astro AWANI, director of the Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department, Datuk Seri Abd Jalil Hassan said the case is being investigated in accordance with Section 22 (D) of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1998 and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.

“PDRM has received a police report on the sale of fake digital vaccine certificates in which an article was uploaded on Facebook by the account owner stating that ‘it has started to be sold online,’” he said.

He also advised the public to not engage in any immoral and illegal activities such as forging and selling official documents, such as the digital vaccination certificates. 

Please don’t buy fake certificates and just get yourself vaccinated! It’s for your own safety!
